I have another TV series that I’m getting an enormous kick out of.  It might be that I’m a bit worried about the state of the world these days and in need of light, frolicky, distractions, but The Residence is as amusing, quirky, and delightful as its reviews have claimed.

It is on Netflix and dropped at the end of March.   The lead character, Cordelia Cupp, played by Uzo Aduba, is the marvelous quirky detective.  It is a lighthearted romp for sure, with liberal use of the f*** word, but it’s bringing a smile to my face.  The Residence.

Tree canopies are important to keeping urban areas cool in hot weather.  Many cities around the world have increased their tree planting initiatives over the past several years.  Only 120 cities out of 10,000 in the world are officially recognized as ‘tree cities’, a classification created by the Arbor Foundation.  The List of Top 30 Cities by Forest Cover identifies the cities with the most trees per square mile. To earn a spot as a Tree City of the World, cities had to fulfill these requirements:

• Deciding on a committee that would remain responsible for the trees.
• Establishing the regulations regarding the management of the trees.
• Creating an inventory of existing and flourishing trees in the relevant municipality.
• Setting aside adequate funding for a ‘tree budget.’
• Publicly celebrating achievements and encouraging the public to get involved in building an urban forest.

I heard a crazy story about one of my favorite actors the other day, and I wondered if Snopes.com was still around to verify it for me.  Snopes is very much alive and kicking, along with a multitude of other verification resources.  There are now sites that can verify photos, verify weather on any given date and in any place, spot AI generated content, and more.  The information comes from a newsletter called Beyond Bylines, in an article called 20 Helpful Tools for Journalists.  Check it out here.
