Use your dishwasher to warm dinner plates before a party.  After cooking all afternoon for a dinner party, you don’t want to serve food on a cold plate.  Sauces will congeal and the food will get cold.  Put the plates in your empty dishwasher and set the dishwasher to the drying cycle to activate the heating element without starting a wash.  When you are ready for the warm plates just remove them from the dishwasher.
