Spring is coming and I am thinking of flowery tablescapes.  ASE subscriber Susan G. gives these Carole Shiber hand painted napkin rings and napkins as hostess gifts. Insert a rolled napkin into the ring and you have flowers – on your buffet – or put one flower and leafy napkin ring in a glass at each place. They will make you smile.

The napkin rings are $8 each and can also be used as coasters. They are made of flexible vinyl and can be sponged dry. Carole also has fun flower and leaf placemats, tablecloths and colorful napkins with trim.

WD 40 has been difficult to use for a precise application until now.  It was messy and the can sprayed more than was needed. Now there is a compact pen applicator which applies the lubricant with a precision felt tip.  The On-The-Go Pen is small and fits easily in a drawer, toolbox, or glove compartment.  $14.99.

If you have absolutely nothing better to do, or you have a child who needs a science experiment, go to the Red Hot Ball Experiments on Instagram. Each short video features an item like a raw egg, an apple, a deck of playing cars, you get the idea.  A VERY hot red iron small ball is placed on the item, and we watch to see what happens within the minute to the item. It’s a little quirky, but fun.
