Timely nuggets of information and ideas we want to share with you.
I am watching a new show on PBS called GardenFit. Madeline Hooper, an avid gardener, went to a fitness trainer, Jeff Hughes, to help her with the aches and pains gardening sometimes gave her. They have taken their show on the road, and they visit spectacular gardens. Jeff teaches each gardener how to avoid injuries. “Taking care of your body while taking care of your garden” is their mission. It is very entertaining. I love the gardens and I’ve learned a great deal about avoiding injury while gardening.https://www.pbs.org/show/gardenfit/
This might or might not appeal to you. I would venture a guess that the younger you are the more it will appeal. FaceApp will show you what you will look like when you are older than the photo you have supplied. It appears to add about 20 years to the original photo.
I belong to a book group with people I love, and when we are choosing a new book, we consider how many pages each possibility is. This website, How Long to Read, takes that one step farther – if the book is in their database, it will tell you how long it will take you to read it! Once you find a book, you are offered the opportunity to take their reading test to calculate your reading speed.
There are more than 12 million books in their database and their reading timer will calculate how long it will take to read the book in its entirety. Check it out before you decide what book to read next. The site also allows readers to search for books based on their minimum and maximum reading times.
Here is an example:
Rabbit at Rest
By John Updike
The average reader, reading at a speed of 300 WPM, would take 10 hours and 5 minutes to read Rabbit at Rest by John Updike.
We assumed a speed of 300 WPM for this calculation. Complete a reading speed test below to calculate using your own reading speed.
In 2020, during the shutdown, we recommended a 2011 movie called The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey, based on a novel of the same title by Michael Connelly. We recently discovered a brand-new Netflix series created by David E. Kelley called The Lincoln Lawyer, also based on the book by Michael Connelly and we loved that as well! It dropped May 13, 2022 and has been very well reviewed. It is about a defense attorney, down on his luck in Los Angeles, who works out of his Lincoln Town Car rather than an office. He restarts his career with a murder case. It stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Neve Campbell. It is rated TV-Mature Audiences. It is great if you like crime dramas that are engaging and aren’t overly violent or bloody. It’s well worth a look.
