I have made some costly mistakes buying sunglasses. I’ve also lost several very expensive pairs. It has occurred to me that there are many less expensive brands that I like as much as the very luxury brands. One of those brands is Carfia. They sell polarized sunglasses in a variety of styles for men and women, and most are under $25.00 a pair.
They also sell UV glasses to reduce blue light from your tech devices. They sell through an Amazon store online.
In Scotland, Transportation Department snowplows are called ‘Gritters’ and Scotland’s Trunk Road Gritter Tracker has a website that will give you gritter information for whatever address you enter. This allows travelers to know which of the major roads have been plowed before they set out. The gritters have names and Scotland is exhibiting a sense of humor with them. Here are some amusing examples:
Snow Connery
License to Chill
Salt Disney
Sled Zeppelin
Gritney Spears

Winter is here, and COVID is still in force, and I can’t think of anything more fun to do than browse a fantastic online antiques store. It is called The Art of Antiquing and it is owned by a friend of mine who loves nothing better than to scour France and England for interesting, unique, and high-quality antique treasures, and sell them to you and me at reasonable prices. The store is in Round Pond, Maine, but Margaret has created a wonderful inventory of her collections on the website.
