Timely nuggets of information and ideas we want to share with you.

Here is a relatively unknown Google search trick – Focus your search by eliminating all unwanted, possibly distracting words.  Put a minus sign in front of the word(s) that might lead the search in the wrong direction.  For example, say you are searching for information about cardinals and your search comes up with many references to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.  Refine your search by putting a minus sign (-) in front of the words ‘St. Louis’, ‘baseball’ and ‘team’.

Here are a couple of tech terms for which I recently sought a definition:

Clickbait: Clickbait is a term for outrageous headlines or texts for stories that are usually not worthy of the headline.  It is the website’s attempt to keep you on the site longer than you normally might have.  The more they can engage you emotionally, the longer you will stay, and going out with outrageous statements works. Often clickbait starts with “You’ll Never Believe…”, or “She didn’t know…and then this happened…”.

Troll Factory or Troll Farm is a group of people who are paid to create fake accounts and push specific political opinions. Their goal is to interfere in countries’ elections and decision-making.

Now we don’t need to choose between chic and function with our mask selections.  Pretty Flowers is making their beautiful fabric masks with two layers of polypropylene which is the same interior the KN95 masks use.  The two layers are in between two outer layers of 100% cotton fabric.  Each mask is individually sewn and printed, one at a time.  The masks are designed to fit snugly over your nose, mouth, chin, and cheeks.  They have adjustable elastic around the ears and an internal adjustable nose wire.  And, the best thing is, they are reversible – You get 2 masks in one! There are a dozen fabric options.  I’m ordering mine right this minute.   $24.00.

Need to find a public restroom near you right now?  There are two recommended apps that will help you out.

Flush is a bathroom locator app that works around the world. Flush not only finds you the nearest public restrooms quickly, anywhere around the world, it will give you quick directions from your location and tell you if the bathrooms require a fee, a key, or provide disability access. It is free.

It is available for both Android and iOS.

Bathroom Scout Pro costs $0.99 to buy. It has the largest database of public toilets and bathrooms around the world of any similar apps.
