Did you mean to go see Gypsy when it was on Broadway but just didn’t get there? Now there is BroadwayHD, recommended by ASE reader Karah P. for The Friday Bulletin. It is a digital streaming media company that records live theater performances and makes them available to its subscribers.   Their first recorded production was the limited 12 week Broadway run of Romeo and Juliet in 2013. BroadwayHD released its recording in 2014. They also have live stream productions, the first being She Loves Me, a Broadway revival in 2016. Since the company’s debut they have released many productions and have a substantial digital on-demand library. Catch up on Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, Present Laughter with Kevin Kline and many, many more. A subscription is $8.99 a month or $99.99 a year.

Fair Harbor Clothing Company makes its clothing products from discarded plastic bottles found in the oceans of Haiti. The bottles are collected, shredded, spun and then woven into durable, water-resistant swimwear. They sell women’s one pieces and bikini bathing suits, men’s board shorts and swim trunks. The Repair Café is a worldwide movement trying to reverse our ‘throwaway’ mentality about our possessions. The idea was born in 2009 in Amsterdam and it spread from there. It currently has 1,600 sites in just under 30 countries. Bring your broken items (stuffed animals, electronics, bicycles, lamps, furniture, jewelry) and repair coaches will try to fix it. There are no guarantees that the item is repairable. There is no charge for the repair but donations are accepted. There are 80 Repair Cafés in the U.S., in 11 states, including New York.

On July 18th the Today Show launched Al Roker’s new web series about his passion – sandwiches. It’s called Cold Cuts and Al, with special guests, creates sandwiches.

His first episode’s guests are Cheech and Chong. You can only imagine the sandwiches they created! It’s fun to watch. On You Tube.
