Give Back Box was founded in 2012 by Monika Wiela who was inspired by a homeless man she encountered in Chicago who needed a pair of shoes. At the time she was running an online shoe store. When she returned the next day with a pair of shoes, he was gone. She did research and learned that about 11 million tons of clothing, shoes, towels, bedding and many other textiles get thrown away every year. She created Give Back Box which are recycled shipping boxes used to donate used clothing, shoes and other textiles to nonprofits. Consumers are encouraged to fill their used shipping boxes with their unwanted household items and send them to local charities that have partnered with Give Back Box.  Print out your prepaid shipping label.   Tax receipts are issued to those who make donations.
