Ursus Wehrli is half of a very famous circus act as well as a comedian in Switzerland.  The circus act, Ursus & Nadeschkin, is so famous in that country that it has won almost every theater award in Switzerland.  In spite of a grueling performance schedule, Ursus has developed a sideline – he straightens up our visual world.

In his first two books he sorts out works of art by famous artists like Klee, Picasso, Magritte, Van Gogh and others in a series of before & after pictures.  He deconstructs a picture and stacks its components into neat color coordinated stacks according to size and shape.  It is very clever and amusing.

In his latest book, The Art of Clean Up: Life Made Neat and Tidy he takes mundane items like flowers, laundry on a line, and a bowl of chowder and neatens them up in the same before and after layout. He arranges alphabet soup into alphabetical order, for example. It is wonderful and makes me wonder what kind of a brain comes up with something so clever and creative!  $14.95.

He has a wonderful TED talk that is highly entertaining.

His other books to date are Tidying Up Art available from third party sellers at various prices, and Tidying Up More Art which is currently out of stock.
