Raising the bar for chic picnics
It’s that time of year when we start thinking about eating outside and picnicking. I love all the outdoor accessories that go with outdoor eating. Here are some new versions of unbreakable, melamine dinnerware products.
This is an adorable 4.5” appetizer plate. It has a non-slip silicone bottom so it can sit securely if you need hands-free grazing. It is dishwasher safe.
Designer Todd Oldham must have been reading A Sharp Eye and rediscovered American Modernist Charley Harper’s fabulous bird and animal illustrations. (Read ASE article) This Cactus Tray is 13” x 13” and has a delightful animal illustration. It is $31.95
This is a 7″ melamine 4 plate set featuring Charley Harper’s illustrations with cardinals. This high-quality porcelain is dishwasher- and microwave-safe and comes packaged in a decorative gift box. $49.95
This is a set of four Under the Sea Coral. There is a crab, octopus, pufferfish and turtle in the set. They are 9” in diameter and dishwasher safe, not good in the microwave. On sale for $33.00.
Qsquared is a wonderful site carrying only melamine dinnerware. There are many patterns and solids to choose among and the prices are good. One of my favorites is this Portsmouth 10.5” dinner plate. $14.00 each.
