Lindsay Phillips is the creator and founder of SwitchFlops. See our earlier article.
Her concept of one basic pair of flip-flops with changeable straps evolved from a high school art project. She applied for a patent before she graduated from high school!
Switch Flops hit stores in 2007 and have been very successful. A girl can go from the beach to a dance with the same sandal, just different straps. In addition to the original flip-flops, she offers 3 sandal styles and almost 100 different straps to choose from.
I love my pair of original SwitchFlops. They are very comfortable, and great looking with their sporty and ever-changing straps!
Since we last checked on her over a year ago, she has broadened her line. It was the ballet flats that attracted our attention this time. Instead of changeable straps, they have changeable snaps. They come in 4 colors and have 43 snaps. I bought the black flats and 4 different snaps, and I feel that I have 4 new pairs of shoes. What a great travel idea! There is a flip-flop that uses the snaps as well.
She also offers scarves in 8 colors from $22 – $25 each.
