I love melamine plates in the summer. You can take them anywhere without worrying about breakage or weight, they are easy to wash and they are so decorative. Here are some favorites.
Thomas Paul Melamine Plates
This is Thomas Paul’s Scrimshaw set of 11” dinner plates. A set of four plates, each with a distinctive pattern is $57.79. They are dishwasher safe but not microwave safe.
Here are 9“ side plates in the Sealife set by Thomas Paul. A set of the same four patterns is $50.00.
Melamine Plates and Patterns
Sometimes the food should be the main attraction. This solid white melamine plate by Le Cadeuax might be the ticket. This Rustica Antique White comes in this 11” dinner plate, a 9” salad plate and a 7.5” cereal bowl, plus assorted serving pieces. One 11” dinner plate is $19.00.
I have long been a fan of the British potter Emma Bridgewater. I love both her polka dot and star patterns. I was delighted to discover that she makes picnic plates in both patterns. This picnic plate is 10” in diameter. It can be put in the dishwasher on the top shelf. It is not good for the microwave. They are $34.99 each.
If you are taking kids on a picnic, how adorable is Joanne Hudson Dancing Mice picnic dinner plate? I’d consider using it even if there were no kids on the picnic. They are $13.95 each.
Roxy Melamine Leaf Platters are fun for outdoor entertaining. $39.00 each.
A Sharp Eye loves melamine and we have several articles on more of our favorites for adding style to your picnics.
