|Big doings at the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Pendleton, Oregon. They are celebrating their 100th anniversary, and are still producing their classic striped blankets.
Founded in 1909 by three brothers, the company became known for creating patterned blankets for local Native American tribes. Today the company has expanded into clothing, home décor and accessories, rugs, and bedding.
The most well – known of the striped blankets is the Glacier National Park wool blanket pictured above. These classic all-wool blankets are thick and warm, perfect for a top layer on the bed.
Also popular are the Yakima Camp wool-cotton designs.
The blankets cost between $169 – $234 depending on size.
They also have many other patterns including Jacquards. Those are $269 – $489 depending on size.
