Usher sings the ABC's

Timely nuggets of information and ideas we want to share with you.

I need to clean my laptop and I found this article to help me not make a mess of things. My laptop is certainly not ‘gross’ as the headline of the article suggests, a few crumbs here and there is the worst. Apparently, there will be more dust than I’m anticipating. The article also includes instructions on cleaning your screen and the laptop case.  You will need microfiber wipes, compressed air, cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol. It seems scary to get into the laptop’s innards, but I’ll give it a try.

Book Freak Advise and Usher sings

Book Freak is a weekly newsletter that offers bits of advice to improve your quality of life. The author and book title are always cited.  For example, under the topic “Simple ways to be a better communicator” comes this advice “Never, ever, give just a one-sentence response to the question, ‘Where are you from?’ Give the asker some fuel for his tank, some fodder for his trough.” That is from the book How to Talk to Anyone: 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships by Leil Lowndes.

Usher sings the ABCs

I know I mention Sesame Street often.  I have been hopelessly in love with the characters since 1983, and the show remains popular and current.  For example, there was a recent New York Times article called “How Sesame Street Keeps the ABCs Fresh, Every Single Time”.  It turns out that Usher (the R & B and pop musician) has deconstructed the familiar ABC song. He also made the word for the letter U his name because he is a long time Sesame Street fan. Usher took what three best friends, Lin Manuel Miranda, Chris Jackson and Bill Sherman, Sesame Street’s music director (the three men have been best friends a very long time) had written for him and removed all production elements and the instruments from it.  Instead, he made it a capella with hand clapping, beatbox and harmony.
