A Lovepop card is special. It is a 3D paper sculpture designed by naval engineers. The designers use the latest software and then handcraft the paper sculpture in the Asian art form of sliceform kirigami. The above photos do not do the cards justice. They are truly beautiful. Lovepop was launched out of the Harvard Innovation Lab in 2014. They had a successful appearance on season 7 of Shark Tank. You can find the cards in stationary stores, or you can order online and have your message hand written and snail mailed for you. $13 each online.
The TWA Hotel just completed at JFK Airport opened for business on February 14. When TWA went out of business in 2001 the terminal was closed. The mid-century modern masterpiece was originally designed by Eero Saarinen. The newly renovated hotel incorporated much of the original architecture. It has six restaurants, eight bars, high end retail outlets, a rooftop pool and a large fitness center. The rooms have the second thickest glass in the world to keep them quiet and it’s on the National Register of Historic Places. There’s a museum, and Amish millwork from walnut trees grown in Ohio. To get to their hotel rooms, guests enter space-age flight tubes. Sounds great!!

Are you a lover of gummy bears? Or do you love someone who is? If you’re out west this summer take them to the Gummy Bear Museum, opening this summer in San Francisco. What is the Gummy Bear Museum? In their words:
“We are the Gummy Bear Museum, the first multi-sensorial art experience exhibiting pieces and installations inspired by and made out of gummy bears.” The founders’ goal is to use the Gummy Bear Museum to raise enough funds to be able to donate a full container of therapeutic food bars to children suffering from severe acute malnutrition in Haiti through the organization Meds & Food for Kids. Go see the artwork, experience the playful installations and eat gummy bears, and best of all, create your own flavor.
