Norman Rockwell’s iconic paintings of FDR’s Four Freedoms are on their first international exhibition tour. The traveling exhibition began in May at the New York Historical Society and was organized by the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA where the paintings reside. The paintings of the Four Freedoms – Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Fear, Freedom from Want -are the visual Americans associate with FDR’s famous 1941 speech.

Sandra Boynton is one of my favorite children’s artist/writers. Her books are whimsical, funny and loved by all ages. Her first was Moo, Baa, La La La!  Sandra Boynton’s new book – Here, George – caught my attention because she has collaborated with The New Yorker cartoon illustrator George Booth. Using the dog George Booth drew for her, Boynton turned it into one of her delicious board books. It tells the story of a dog who appears to be just a large and lazy dog, but has a secret life his owners know nothing about. This charming book is great for young children, young grandchildren and adults with a silly sense of humor. $7.99.

Rothy’s has a new style shoe – loafers. The loafer style comes in eight new colors and patterns and all are gorgeous. They are even more comfortable than the other Rothy’s (and that is high praise!) as they come further back around the ball of your foot. $165 a pair.

NOTE: Rothy’s is giving ASE readers a $20 discount off of every new customer’s first order!  If you send us your email, we’ll send you the link to a $20 discount.
