Quarantine Entertainment #8 Best movies

This is a fabulous website that guides us in our home movie viewing.  Best Movies by Farr is your personal guide to movies to rent, stream or buy.  The site was founded by John Farr, a movie advocate. He and his team are working hard to be able to answer the most asked question during the COVID19 shutdown – “What should we watch tonight?”.  They offer a free subscription and you will receive weekly updates, top picks and new releases.  You can also go on the site to browse the over 2,500 movies reviewed.

Redditt's AITHA

Please excuse the bad language in the title of this website, and let’s just call it AITA, which is what Reddit does.  It is interesting enough to know about.  Many, many people love it, and it is a serious attempt to discuss the niggly feeling we all have had that maybe we misstepped.

In the website’s own words -“A catharsis for the frustrated moral philosopher in all of us, and a place to finally find out if you were wrong in an argument that’s been bothering you. Tell us about any non-violent conflict you have experienced; give us both sides of the story, and find out if you’re right, or you’re the asshole.”

25 Songs that Matter Now

In mid-March, the New York Times released their annual top 25 songs for 2020.  Just for fun, and because what else do we have to do, my husband and I listened to all 25 and graded them. Because we are (way) over the age of 30, there were only three songs that we both liked, and another 3 that one of us liked and the other did not.  That leaves 19 songs that we need to spend more time with.

Check out the 25 songs – click here.

Quarantine Entertainment #8 Cooking with Annie

A Maine chef who usually cooks aboard a windjammer is now at home because of the pandemic.  She has launched a You Tube channel called Cooking with Annie where she helps those new to cooking or baking and inspires those with more cooking experience.  She teaches basic bread skills, using up leftovers, lack of available ingredients and other cooking challenges the pandemic is visiting on us.  There are three videos a week, and new recipes on her website.

Hamburg's minuture wonderland

Check out Hamburg’s Miniature Wonderland virtually.  Adults will marvel as well as kids. It includes the world’s largest model railroad system, the world’s largest model airport and many tiny scenes of real life in a city. It is supposed to be the most popular tourist attraction in Germany and I’ve never seen anything like it.  Check out the photo above – doesn’t it seem real?!!!   Very creative, not to be missed!
