Style and protection under a hot dish
A trivet is a small object placed between a hot serving dish and a dining table to protect the table from the heat of the dish. They can be purely functional but it’s much more fun to find attractive, clever and/or unusual ones. Here are some we’ve found.
If storage space is an issue in your kitchen, this stretch silicone pot stand unfolds to be 21.5” long x 8” tall. It folds up to 8” x 2”w. It comes in black, green, pink and stainless steel. It is heat resistant up to 340°F and dishwasher safe. $15.99.
Another expandable trivet is made from silicone. Fully open it’s 8.5” x 1.5” and is a fun shape. It can handle up to 465°F and is dishwasher safe. $5.99.
This is a handmade 100% cotton fabric coiled trivet. It is multi-color, and there are other color variations to choose from. It is 12” in diameter and could double for a placemat. $25.00.
These trivets are expandable and come in a five-color set for $15.99. They are silicone, fold up for storage and resist heat up to 340°F. They are dishwasher safe.
This yellow bee trivet is made from handcrafted aluminum. It has foam feet to protect surfaces, and wipes clean with a soft clean cloth . It is 10”w x 9”d x 1”h. $45.
This is a handmade nautical cotton rope trivet is in the Turks Head pattern. It has a 6.5” diameter and is thick enough to protect a tale from heat. $23.00.
